Announcement Regarding Future Changes To Website & Anticipated Maintenance.

Readers,

As of June 1, 2022, I began to review and revise this website to make necessary changes that I feel will make it easier to navigate and that will shift its focus a bit. I anticipate completing those changes and relaunching a completely revamped website in the next two weeks – barring the unexpected. To complete the changes, I will need to take the website offline – likely for a few days. During that time, the website should display a “down for maintenance” notification if you open it up.

What changes will be occurring and why? The “why” is probably easier to answer. I had a rare attack of humility and wisdom in May, 2022 where I realized that the current website is an altar to my own ego. I started the website when I was young, dumb, and hustling. I thought that I had to get my brand out there (partially true), and I created a forum to do that, which involved vomiting my face and story all over the lead pages. Maybe that worked. Maybe it didn’t. That doesn’t matter right now.

I have reached a different stage in my life where my need for an altar to my vanity is less and my desire to piss people off is greater. In other words, I need a platform better suited for amplifying the content that I produce rather than amplifying who I am.

My goal is to transform the website from a profile website into a content-based website similar to news websites and other popular blogs. To do that, I have completely reworked the website’s design, and I will be reworking some of its pages. The transition will be a work in progress, and the revamped website will not necessarily be the final product as I will continue to tinker with it in the coming months.

The change in the website will likely bring some content changes too. To this point, I have largely confined my opinions to the law. That focus has limited the amount of content that I can produce to some extent (courts follow annual schedules too). While my legal commentating won’t stop, I intend to regularly run my mouth on whatever I feel like – be it politics, sports, culture, etc. Lock your feelings in a closet and buckle up.

I lack the technical know-how to provide neat previews of what changes are coming, but I will do my best to describe some of them below:

Home Page: The home page will no longer be a profile page of me. It will be an animated compilation of my blog posts. It will also have real-time trackers for website activity. If I decide to get super-fancy, I will add an RSS feed (a real time link compiler) that links to news stories.

Pages: I intend at some point to revise the pages into categories of content. For instance, one page header may be labelled “Politics.” Another may be labelled “Sports.” The exact categories will be matter for future revision, but the number of website pages will decrease significantly.

Members Area Will Be Eliminated (For Now): I intend to eliminate the members area for now. I may or may not bring it back if I choose to create premium content. For now, it serves no purpose.

Store: I will close the website store temporarily while I figure out whether to host it offsite or still on this site. I have not had a chance to revise that offering because I have focused on revising the content pages.

Technology Upgrade: I intend to upgrade my technology to keep you apprised of new content. My current intention is to create a better email notification list. I also intend to add a push notifications system that will send your smartphone alerts when new content is posted.

Apologies aren’t really in my nature so I won’t offer the obligatory apology for any inconvenience right now. Find a shrink if you have any.

Regards,

Cam Atkinson
